London (ANI): English singer Sir Cliff Richard, whose sexuality has been a hot matter of debate, has for the first time spoken about his close friendship with a former Roman Catholic priest.
In his autobiography, the 67-year-old fable has revealed that he calls Father John McElynn, who shares his home, his 'companion' and 'blessing'. In 'My Life, My Way', written with author Penny Junor, Richards aforesaid that he met the American former missionary McElynn, then 46, on a trip to New York seven age ago.
"He hadn't had any thought at the beginning of giving up the priesthood, but when it became clear he was thought process of the possibility, I suggested he might assist me with some charitable projects," Daily Express quoted Richard, as saying. That was seven years ago and our arrangement has worked out really well. John now spends nigh of his time look after my properties, which means I don"t have to. John and I have over time struck up a close friendship. He has too become a companion, which is outstanding because I don"t like living alone, even now," he added.
